+KDE-5_18.06 is meant to be installed on top of Slackware -current.
It will *replace* any version of KDE 4 you might have installed!
The Plasma 5 Desktop has gotten rid of its Qt4 legacy. Since the release of
Applications 17.12 there's nothing left which is based on kdelibs4.
What is the NEWS in this batch of updates:
-- In the 'deps' section, cryfs was rebuilt and poppler updated to match the
- version in Slackware.
+- In the 'deps' section, I updated 'qt5' to 5.9.6. I have also added 'OpenAL'
+ as an additional dependency for the 'qt5' package (besides 'libxkbcommon').
- Frameworks update is a stability release, see:
-- Plasma is a stability update as well. See:
- I compiled plasma5-nm against openconnect so that it picks up support for
- it. However I did not add openconnect to the 'deps' section, you need
- to install it separately if you need it.
-- Applications 18.04.1 is a stability and bugfix release.
- See https://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-applications-18.04.1.php .
-- In applications-extra I have rebuilt calligra and upgraded alkimia, falkon,
- kdevelop, kdev-php, kdev-python, krita and krusader. I also added one new
- package: krename.
+- Plasma has not been updated this month. The new major release 5.13.0 depends
+ on Qt 5.10 or higher and I am not prepared yet to switch from Long Term
+ Support (LTS) releases of Qt5 and Plasma to a short-lived branch.
+ The newer Qt 5.11 and Plasma 5.13 have been added to my 'testing' repository.
+- In plasma-extra I updated the 'kdeconnect-framework' package.
+- Applications 18.04.2 is a stability and bugfix release.
+ See https://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-applications-18.04.2.php .
+- In applications-extra I have upgraded 'okteta' 'krita' and 'kstars'.
